New U.S. SFF Television Series (2007-07-23)The Fall 2007 season on U.S. television offers a bumper crop of new sff shows in the wake of the success of Heroes and renewed interest in island puzzler Lost. A list of up-coming shows:
Saving Grace -- TNT -- Starring Holly Hunter as a drunk and disorderly cop who gets visited by an angel.
Pushing Daisies -- ABC -- Created by Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black) and Bryan Fuller (Dead Like Me,) a show about a young guy who can raise the dead back to life by touching them, but if he touches the revived person a second time, they are dead once again.
Moonlighting -- CBS -- A centuries old vampire works as a private investigator.
Reaper -- CW -- Produced by Kevin Smith (Clerks,) a show about a young guy who finds out that his parents sold his soul to the Devil and the Devil wants him to collect escaped souls from Hell.
Cavemen -- ABC -- A group of cavemen who never evolved try to deal with life in modern Atlanta, Georgia, inspired by the Geico Insurance ad campaign.
Chuck -- NBC -- A computer engineer accidentally has a secret government database downloaded into his brain and is recruited by the NSA to work as a spy.
The Sarah Connor Chronicles -- Fox -- Taking place in the time period between the films Terminator 2 and Terminator 3, this show has Sarah Connor and her teenage son battling cops from the present and android assassins from the future.
Journeyman -- NBC -- A man finds he can travel through time during his lifetime and can change the past and future for better or worse.
New Amsterdam -- Fox -- Film director Lasse Hallstrom executive produces a show about a 17th century soldier who saved a Native American priestess and as a reward will not age or die until he finds his true love, and he's still waiting as a NYC homicide detective in the 21st century.
Flash Gordon -- SciFi Channel -- Another remake of the adventures of the daring spaceman from classic sf.
The Bionic Woman -- NBC -- A modern remake of the classic 1970's television show about a woman who gets turned into a cyborg and goes to work for the government.
Eli Stone -- ABC -- Mid-season replacement series starring Jonny Lee Miller as a ruthless lawyer who has visions of dead relatives and pop stars and may become a spiritual prophet.
