The JLA gets computer game (2006-03-21)Snowblind Studios, the developer behind games like Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and dynamic-RPG Champions: Return to Arms, is currently creating a computer game based on the Justice League of America entitled Justice League Heroes.
Justice League Heroes is based on the iconic DC superhero team and is currently being developed for PS2, PSP and Xbox. Currently scheduled for release sometime in the autumn, Justice League Heroes is an action-adventure game with RPG-style character customisation similar to the X-Men Legends series. Little is known of th storyline as yet, although it has been revealed that the game will boast an original plot from Dwayne McDuffie. Given the nature of the title it is fair to assume that the JLA will be fighting some serious Earth-threatening battles on a much larger scale than previous comic book games.
The RPG-upgrade system in Justice League Heroes, according to a press release, "possesses an array of character-specific, upgradeable superpowers resulting in unique controls and fighting styles". In addition the game features unlockable Justice League superheroes, interactive and destructible environments, and a two-player co-op mode.
Should be interesting to see whether they can create an experience worthy of so many iconic powers. More as it becomes available.
