Halo Graphic Novel
(2006-03-20)Bungie and Marvel are teaming up to create what appears to be a series of graphic novels based on the hugely popular Halo games and universe. It is unclear at this time whether the graphic novels will be based on the continuing adventures of the Master Chief, but the storyline does use key characters from the Halo universe and will be set against the backdrop of the Covenant/Flood storyline.
Somewhat disappointingly titled 'Halo Graphic Novel' the title is due out in July, weighs in at 128 pages and intriguingly is an anthology featuring original stories set in the Halo universe. A main story thread and three additional stories will appear in the graphic novel, with several big names including Moebius, Phil Hale, Ed Lee, Tsutomo Nihei, Jay Faerber, Andrew Robinson, Lee Hammock and Simon Bisley all attached.
As well as the stories, 'Halo Graphic Novel' will feature Halo-inspired artwork created by Bungie's own in-house art team and several major comic book artists.
The Halo Graphic Novel is only the first of a number of co-operative comic book projects planned between Bungie and Marvel.
