If you're a true movie geek and video store junkie you've seen this masterpeice at least a hundred times or more. Many people point out that this is one of the low points in Ridley Scott's film because we look at his films that happened later; like Black Rain, G.I. Jane, Macthstick Men, etc.
The thing is that most of those films grew from his earlier films like Legend which was something he felt he needed to do at the time. And the reason it really didn't do well is probably because it didn't get the selling it needed, and if you saw it in America or in the video version it wasn't what it was supposed to be. The Tangerine Dream does provide a moderine etherial sound, but it wasn't the score that was intended.
Legend is actually a great fantasy that is full of colorful and memorable characters that stay with you forever. It stands with the great stories of Grimm's tales. And with the recent popularity of the Lord of the Rings films and the Academy Award of best picture, the director's cut of Legend should definately be viewed.
Take a second, or first, look at Legened. You really may change your mind, or expand it.
