Maybe,
It’s us who are too self-centered
It’s us who need to change
It’s us
Who need to take the first step
It’s us
Who should think of what
We can do for others
And not what we can squeeze out of others

Maybe,
It’s us who are the problem
It’s us who lack the maturity
It’s us
who should seek to understand others
it’s us
who should learn to tolerate others
for we'll be much at ease and in peace, if we
appreciate those who are different from us


Maybe,
it’s us who aren't patient enough
it’s us who need to initiate peace
it’s us
who should eat a humble pie
it’s us
who should strive for peace at all costs
and be slow to take up arms
for conflict produces no winners

may be,
it’s us who are wrong
it’s us who should start to trust our leaders
it’s us
who should help and encourage them
it’s us
who should appreciate their difficult job
perhaps we should start
by praying for them.



MY DAY


I'll delight in today
not tomorrow
cause it may never come
nor will I re -live yesterday
it's gone and gone and gone
today is what am sure of
and I'll be happy today
simply cause it’s today

I'll delight in today
and not wait
till I possess gold and a miss universe
coz gold and girls
may never come my way
but today has come to me
and it belongs to me
so I'll rejoice and possess today

I'll delight in today
ignore the dark clouds drifting by
take pleasure in admiring nature
listen to the singing birds and chirping insects
for today is what I have
and what I have, I use
so I'll use today
to think of God's majesty

I'll delight in today
appreciate all my kinsmen
pray for all my friends
forgive my doltish politician
and stop thinking of what evil
the blood sucking capitalists are scheming
I'll wish everyone well today
turn a blind eye to evil, just for today

I'll delight in today
take pride in my animals
enjoy what the plains offer me
thank them for their generosity
today I'll beat my chest
stand on top the of termite mound
like the ultimate simba, on a throne
and blissfully watch today as it rolls by





TIME BARRED

I run and run
yet I never seem to flee
from the tentacles of sins,
to my vomit…….my sins
I return again and again

I run and run
But its all futile
as I always break promises
and kick vows through the window
to darkness, I seem to find my way back again

I run and run
but to sin I return again
later to be consumed by useless remorse
yet its my lack of commitment
and the feeble effort I invest,to stay in the light

I run and run
perpetually asking
what were the ingredients of the saints
what were their secret weapons
as if I don’t know

I run and run
with all the solutions in my heart
but never do I pause to consult them
"I am, but a weak man" has always been my excuse a weak excuse would’nt you agree I run and run and time ticks and ticks as it runs and runs never stopping to wait for me soon I know I will run out of time
