We finally got some resolution on it. There are about 5,000 ships in that first blip. So, if they are all the same as that; it sure doesn't look like some type of sightseeing tour.

Mary- Nope, that many can't be good. Any idea where it's going yet?

Joey- It looks like they'll just be going by. Bye, that's what I say. Anyways, space is vast; infinite actually. Luckily enough, most of it is like my DNA – which is to say, crap. That's is good though; not a chance they'll see us and try to eat us or some odd deal like that.

Mary- All right then, I'll get the reports ready for the next shuttle
Something like: Possible sick society - no standard contact - not likely to join civilization- sound right? Ok, Ready to do the shift change?

Joey- Ya, I concur on the report. Go ahead hit the shift switch.

Mary- Hush field on

Joey- Transferring command.

Mary- Gravity control check.

Joey- Hush field off, and the good ship Snoopy is all yours.

Mary- (now her voice is the one coming from the speakers in a semi mechanical accent) Very good. I'll continue to scan those same two bangs for any prospects. What do you suppose they are? Something that big moving that fast?

Joey - Let's see: church group, raiders, imperialist slime of some sort.

Mary- Must you be so negative? Maybe they are not nut cases at all. Maybe they're just backwater people looking for a better life. Why would anyone stay in their original place once they discovered the star motor? You'd have to be pretty lucky to have evolved on a planet that has no better when the big "U" universe goes on forever the way it does.

Joey- Most of the endless variety of people are a pain in my neck anyway. We have work to do and we're not going to get paid if it doesn't get done.
Joey (gets out of cockpit recliner and exits)

Mary - (to self) Okay, back to searching the gravity of that bang for someone with something good to say. Someone different in every single way.

Act I
Scene III

(single seat Klorge Scout ship - inter universe space)

Ignatz (over the ship's intercom) - You've hit the 92 percentile so we are starting count down.

John- Ready to go; let me know.

Ignatz- Loading your program now. Launch in about 1 minute. It looks like the survey ship has taken a greater interest in us. Go get 'em, before they know we know.

John - So who's control

Ignatz- On today's trip Commander Dreok will be your genial host.

John - Hail the Klorge enlightenment; establishing link to control and launching.

Ignatz- Bring them all back.

----

John - Hello Control, How much of a lead has our expensive technology bought us?

Dreok- John is it? Well Lots, maybe not enough, but lots more than the target suspects. This really does show the wisdom of the Klorgen way, our emphasis of putting the finer point on technology.

John- It's got us where we are today. Though on this day, I'm nearer the pointy end then I'd like.

Dreok - Just think of the prize -- John? Think of the billions who have been -and who will be set on the course to genuine fulfillment.

John - Yes captain.
