(Page 2 of 2) Moonlight Curves by Rob Garbin
(4 ratings)
| Each line, curve, and shape reflected a deeper reality when bathed in his heavenly light. Jeff stood staring in astonishment at the ash-covered bed where another failure had transformed into a long denied dream. He looked at his glowing limbs, tears streaming down his face. An increase in the light around him drew Jeff's attention, turning he saw an angel standing in the doorway to the bedroom. He recognized the beautiful face that had stunned his senses and fell to the ground in humility. A gentle hand touched his head then the side of his face as the angel drew him up with kind insistence. She smiled when she took Jeff's hands into hers.
"God has heard your suffering," she said.
More tears streamed from his eyes. The angel released one of his hands while beams of light passed through the ceiling as if it were not there. Jeff watched as the walls disappeared and were replaced by a shining pastoral landscape full of green life and soft clouds. Leading him forward, the angel walked into heaven.
