You are my candle in the night
You turn my darkest hour bright
Like a shelter in a raging storm
I have your love to keep me warm

You are the angel that I seek
You give me strength when I am weak
Whenever with you I am near
You bring a little heaven here

You are the flowers in the spring
You are the birds that sweetly sing
Like sunshine on a rainy day
You drive my dark clouds far away

You are the ambrosia for my soul
My sustenance from the bitter cold
In times of hardship, in times of pain
You taught me how to rise again

So on this day, before you I stand
With one red rose and a ring in hand
Hoping that you'd be my wife
For you give new meaning to my life
