Soar by Heather Drummond

You are a seed being carried in the wind
I am a ball and chain
You will soar
You will fly and dance in the air
I will remain trapped on the ground
My words have bound me,
Adhered to your memory
You have cast off the shackles
I tied to your life
You will look down on me from the sky,
A figure of pity, a fading memory
And when you land in pastures new
Your life will sprout and flourish
Your past will seem as though it never existed
A past I will never escape
My all, you will look up
And watch the sun cross the sky
You will never look back.
