A Life or a Burden by Ruben KackstaetterA Life or a Burden
The rapture of, two souls in love,
the sparks of life unfurled.
The growth the strain, the mother’s pain,
brings life into this world.
Throughout the years, a parents fears,
their child growing older.
It’s a mere stone, to what is known,
of our teenage boulder.
As boys or girls, live through the whirls,
of moving to the wild.
The burdens shift, unlike a gift,
from parent to their child.
Our life moves on, with much gone wrong,
before we reach our dream.
And soon we see, that life may be,
much more than it may seem.
Yet when we’re bound with whom we found,
we think that life’s complete.
Our life’s not done, its just begun,
when troubled with defeat.
Before life ends, its worth depends,
on nothing bound by earth.
Its what we learned, not gold we earned,
through journeys since our birth.
