More than just a fantasy

I wasn\'t sure about this book when I first started it. I thought it was going to be the usual slash, fight and kill the monsters type fantasy, but once you get into it there is far more to it than that. If, like me, you like things like \"the Matrix\" where you have an action and metaphysics all thrown together then you\'ll probably like this. But if your looking for pure fantasy, then maybe not.

Anyway, well worth a read. I\'d certainly recommend it.

I found this book exciting but challenging particularly the more surreal aspects of the Judas and Thomas characters. Coming from a Scottish background I found the analogy to clan life brutal and facinating. I can see elements of science fantasy and historical novels in this story. Chris McKenna writes as a cross between Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman with a bit of spirituality added for good measure. An excellent first novel from this author and I look forward to reading his work in the future.
