The sun was just rising when Emerald gave birth.

Rogue charged up the stairs like a mad man and then froze on the threshold. In their bed cleaned and bathed were Emerald and two babies.

He was beside her instantly tears running down his face.

"We have a son and a daughter my lord husband." She smiled tiredly at him. He kissed her forehead softly and looked at her with the truest love writ all over his face. Alex was also crying, thankful his youngest had survived.

"Well what are you going to name them?" Alex asked suddenly breaking the blissful silence. Rogue and Emerald smiled at each other then he turned to Alex.

"Our son is Richard Jacob Alexander Hawkington." Alex’s breath stopped for a moment. "And our daughter is Victoria Isabel Lily Hawkington." Lily let out a soft cry then went to her son-in-law and hugged him tightly.

"You do us great honor Rogue." She kissed his cheek then her daughter’s. Then Lily turned and chased everyone out so the new family could be alone.

"I will send up food in an hour or so. Rogue help her out she is extremely tired giving you two children and hiding her pains for two days." Lily looked pointed at her daughter and tsked. Alex looked at his wife and she motioned him out letting him know she would tell all later.

Rogue moved around the bed and quickly disrobed and climbed into bed with his family. He laid their children between them carefully and examined each child, counting ten toes and fingers and all the other silly sweet things that new parents do.

Emerald fell asleep watching, with a content smile on her face. Rogue didn’t think his love for this woman could grow anymore but he found out he was wrong. His love had just grown a thousand fold and he would not let anything or anyone harm his family.

He knew he must find and destroy Darkonious before harm could come to his beloved family whom he would gladly give his life for this very moment.

A few days later, Emerald was moving about even if it was a bit slowly. She had given birth to two very healthy babies after all. Most the time when twins were born, one was strong while the other was weak, but not her two. Richard and Victoria where very lusty children and though Emerald hated it a wet nurse was needed to help her feed her children. She would switch off with the woman. One feeding she would feed her son and the next her daughter. It actually turned out for the best because even the wet nurse could not have dealt with them both alone.

She was also their nanny and stayed in their nursery with them. Rogue had posted guards in there as well under the strictest rules that they were there to guard the children and not play games with the nanny.

By now all knew of the threat that Darkonious had made and all swore they would give their life to protect the children and their mother.

Six months passed with peace and joy. The twins grew up quickly, already crawling and causing havoc even at their tender age.

On a cold but beautiful morning in February Emerald woke with morning sickness. She knew right away she was with child again. She had counted how late she was just last night and she was again six weeks late. She went back to her bed after finally finishing and laid back down.
